What is NC MTSS?
North Carolina Multi-Tiered System of Support

 

NC MTSS is a school improvement framework that:

    • encompasses academic, behavioral, and social and emotional instruction and support for all
    • employs a systems approach using data-driven problem-solving to maximize growth for all
    • is the most effective and efficient approach to improving district, school and student outcomes ensuring a sound basic education for all
    • is designed to guide and sustain our work around maximizing growth for all

 

Achieving goals takes collaboration and dedicated experts engaged in an efficient and sustainable system of support.

 
SIX COMPONENTS
There are six critical components that guide the school improvement work within our schools.  (see graphic).

These critical components are essential for all schools' implementation of MTSS. 

 

Schools develop and monitor school improvement goals that are focused around each of these critical components to foster on-going change and advancement.

MTSS VISION
Every NC Pre K - 12 public education system implements and sustains all components of a Multi-Tiered System of Support.
 
MTSS MISSION
The Integrated Academic and Behavior Systems team will build the capacity of public school systems to implement and sustain a Multi-Tiered System of Support through the provision of professional development, coaching, technical assistance, and resources.
