Amanda Pike Hearl graduated with a degree in Information Technology in 2000. With over 25 years of experience and certifications she bring a wealth of knowledge in this field to Elkin City Schools. She began working with Elkin City Schools in 2014 as a Technology Technician adding the role of Webmaster in 2018, then recently adding Public Information Officer to her title in 2023.

In this most recent role, Amanda oversees the Communications Department including; district branding, school and community engagement, website training and management at the school-levels. She sets up and manages all district and school-level social media accounts. Amanda continues her role serving as one of the four district technology technicians as needed. In addition she works with the our district Spanish and Vietnamese interpreters / translators to ensure our families receive clear and accessible communication and information is delivered properly.

With her strong background in technology, communications, and design, Amanda is committed to ensuring transparency and sharing press releases and updates that highlight Elkin City Schools in its truest and most positive light.

Amanda has three older daughters; 17, 19, 21. When she is not spending time with her daughters, you will find her as close to the water as possible.
