Susan Baker
Board of Education Member - Sworn in on Friday, the fourth day of January, 2025

Mrs. Susan Baker was appointed to the Elkin City Schools Board of Education on January 4, 2025, following more than 17 years of dedicated volunteer service within the district. A graduate of East Wilkes High School, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994.

Mrs. Baker has held numerous leadership roles, including PTA President at both the elementary and middle school levels, where she led successful fundraising efforts and supported school-wide initiatives. She also serves as President of Elkin Wet Lightning, overseeing youth athletics for more than 120 students and coordinating dozens of volunteers each season. Her involvement extends to athletics, student events, and community service, including her role on the Elkin Recreation and Parks Advisory Board.

With deep ties to the community and a strong belief in the power of education, Mrs. Baker remains committed to ensuring that every student in Elkin City Schools is recognized, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed. She and her husband, Brian, are proud parents of four sons who have all attended Elkin City Schools.
