Elkin High School was selected as one of four winners from across the state of N.C. to receive NCASCD's 2018 Whole Child Award.
As you know, our Board of Education previously adopted a resolution citing October as Whole Child Month. There are five key elements that children need to become happy, productive members of society, which are healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged.
Based on the award nomination, NCASCD found evidence that EHS faculty and staff fully supports their students in a healthy social and emotional climate.
Mr. Hoyle and Mrs. Burton accepted the award at the October 23rd Whole Child Conference in Durham. They accepted a check for $1,000, a plaque and a banner.
Please join me in congratulating the Elkin High School faculty & staff on this accomplishment!
