Welcome to Elkin City Schools Technology Department.

Britt Shaw is the Chief Technology Officer for Elkin City Schools. He has over 30 years of experience in the private and government IT fields.  He was one of the leaders in bringing WinstonNet to Elkin and the surrounding areas to provide faster Internet for schools when they were still limited to T1’s.  

He has worked as a programmer, systems analyst, computer technician, network engineer, web developer and CTO in multiple school districts in North Carolina.  Britt served as the system lead for NCWise and PowerSchool until they could provide someone in that role.  

He worked with the ECS finance department to develop a web based Budget Request system which won an award from the NC Department of Public Instruction.  Britt has also presented technology solutions at several conferences in NC.  His goal is to provide cost effective solutions for the ever changing technological needs of the school system.  

Britt enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family.
