In the Spotlight - 11-14-2022
This week is American Education Week! Celebrated the week before Thanksgiving, American Education Week has been celebrated since 1921.
American Education Week exists to celebrate the potential of all American Students, recognize and give thanks to the teachers and professionals working within the education system as well as honoring the parents, grandparents, and guardians who support and encourage students each and every day. Work is continuously being done to improve the educational system and ensure that learning is lifelong and not just restricted to the classroom!
It is our chance to celebrate your accomplishments. Yet, no achievement or accolade can be experienced without the whole school community. This week we honor the team of people who work within our schools, everyone from the bus driver and classroom teacher, counselor to the cafeteria worker, administrative staff and nurse, to the teacher assistant and substitute teacher, maintenance and housekeeping, technology team and data managers, plus countless others. It is a reminder for families, educators, and our community to come together and support excellence for ALL students no matter their grade level, gender, race, ethnicity, or income status. Elkin City Schools’ takes pride in believing all children can learn and recognizes their strengths and individuality.
Celebrated the week before Thanksgiving, American Education Week gives all of us the opportunity to practice something as simple as gratitude.
Being grateful helps us appreciate the little things in life that we tend to take for granted.
I invite you to give a pat on the back, shake a hand, or simply say thank you to any professional working within Elkin City Schools
