Heather Pardue
Elkin City Schools is proud to announce Ms. Heather Pardue as the May Employee of the Month!
 
Ms. Pardue is our district MTSS Coordinator and works closely with district and school-level leaders working toward building a system that meets the needs of all students. She is a graduate of Elkin City Schools and in her second year with Elkin City Schools, Ms. Pardue has brought so much knowledge, curriculum expertise and synergy to our district! Thank you Ms. Pardue for all your hard work with our students and staff!

Elkin City School is proud to announce Mrs. Kristy Simmons as the April Employee of the Month!
 
Congratulations to Kristy Simmons for being selected as the ECS Employee of the Month!  Mrs. Simmons teaches for the Global E-Learning Academy and is an outstanding, dedicated professional.  Her students love her classes.  She prepares appropriate lessons that are engaging and fun in a remote setting!  Thank you, Mrs. Simmons, for overcoming the challenge of motivating students in a virtual learning environment.  We look forward to recognizing you at the May 15th Board of Education meeting. We are so proud of Mrs. Simmons! She is a great representative for the high quality teachers in Elkin City Schools!

Congratulations to Jailen Wallis, the ECS Employee of the Month!  

 

Ms. Wallis is doing an amazing job co-teaching and facilitating projects in the media center and makerspace.  She keeps our books organized and shelved and is an advocate for new literature in our media center. Each day she is eager to collaborate with students and teachers on projects/research.  Ms. Wallis is working hard to breathe new life into our media center and we are grateful for her and her hard work!

Elkin City Schools is proud to announce Mrs. Carla Henstock as the January Employee of the Month!
 

Carla Henstock is a virtual teacher at our Global E-Learning Academy in our district. Carla Henstock is an asset to the ECS district.  She is an Elkin graduate. Her commitment to teaching students and helping them reach academic success is always her priority.  In addition to teaching math for GLA for 4th and 5th grade, she uses her planning time to assist Mrs. Reed in English at EHS and volunteers after school to help Jr Beta for EES and GLA.  She is a true team player!

Elkin City Schools is proud to announce Mr. Jonah Christian as the December Employee of the Month!
 

Jonah Christian is the physical education teacher at Elkin Elementary School. Coach Christian, the PE teacher at EES and EMS boys basketball coach, is in his second year of teaching. A graduate of Elkin High School, Coach Christian is proud to be a leader in our district. He incorporates critical thinking, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and FUN in every class, every day. Students are always actively engaged during class time and  can’t wait to see what Coach has planned for their time with him. Coach Christian has created an EES PE social media page to highlight activities and celebate student accomplishments. We are proud of Coach Christian and his work to instill a love of active living in his students. Thank you, Coach Christian!

Elkin City Schools is proud to announce Mrs. Michelle Billings as the November Employee of the Month!
 
Mrs. Billings represents the best in Elkin City Schools. She is willing to help anyone with projects or tasks in order for things to operate smoothly.  Just recently, she volunteered to open the book fair for students and never stopped performing her own job responsibilities.  She also sorted, rolled and placed the faculty and staff member names on t-shirts for American Education Week without being asked!  Mrs. Billings is the epitome of a team-player! You'll never find her complaining about pitching in.  She is loved and we know she loves us because it shows in her kind actions and deeds.

Elkin City Schools is proud to announce Mrs. Keshia Edwards as the October Employee of the Month!
 
Keshia Edwards was an impactful classroom teacher for many years, always meeting the varied needs of students through interesting and differentiated lesson plans.  Now entering year 2 as a school counselor for Elkin Middle, she has proven all over again just how much she loves students.  Mrs. Edwards devotes her day to serving students, helping them with obstacles they may be facing in life as well as teaching them how to become responsible citizens. She is an invaluable resource at Elkin Middle School and an asset to Elkin City Schools.  Congratulations, ECS Employee of the Month, Mrs. Keshia  Edwards. 
KARA RENEGAR
Elkin City Schools is proud to announce Mrs. Kara Renegar as the September Employee of the Month!
 
Mrs. Renegar is a 1st grade teacher at Elkin Elementary School. She has been with the school since 2011 when she joined our staff as a Teacher Assistant. In 2013 she earned her Bachelor's degree from Lees-McRae College and stepped into the classroom where she's been a perfect fit since. Mrs. Renegar works hard every day to ensure her students are engaged in rigorous learning that meets them where they are. She collaborates with specialists throughout the building to provide her students with the best support to meet their academic and developmental needs. Thank you, Mrs. Renegar for all you do for the students of Elkin City Schools. YOU are Elkin!
