Global E-Learning Academy

Elkin City Schools is pleased to announce the opening of the Global E-Learning Academy for grades K-12 for the Fall of 2020.  Registration is open beginning July 1-August 31, 2020 for all current students, new out of district students and homeschool students who may choose full or part time learning opportunities.  Students will be served by certified teachers and high school students will earn credits and upon completion receive a diploma.  For questions please contact Pam Colbert, Director of Global Studies and Virtual Learning at colbertp@elkin.k12.nc.us or calling 336-835-3135 ext. 1243 or cell number 336-452-0237.  We look forward to serving your family.

FAQ's
 
Is my student eligible to apply?  All students kindergarten-12th grade are welcome.  Students who are out of district and not currently enrolled in Elkin City Schools may apply as out of district.  Out of District students will complete the Out of District form and get a release from their current district.  
 
What grades are offered?  Students in grades Kindergarten-12th grade may enroll.
 
Who will teach my child?  All teachers will be certified in the state of NC for the courses they teach.
 
What will the calendar look like for the school year?  We will follow the calendar for Elkin City Schools.  The first day will be August 17, with exams before Christmas for high school and the year will end May 29th.
 
What is the cost?  For in district students there is no cost.  For those out of district but in county the cost is $200 per year, for those out of county the cost is $300 per year.
 
Can students who are homeschooled participate?  Yes!  Homeschool students are welcome and may attend full time in elementary and middle school or part-time (at least half of their courses) in high school.
